Seattle Fish Co. expanded into the midwest with a Kansas City location in 2003. Now, twelve years later this location is the driving force behind the fresh seafood market in the Kansas City and Midwest region. As the premiere supplier, they serve more than 500 restaurants. Due to their rapid growth, Seattle Fish Co. expanded into a new location in Riverside, Missouri. The state-of-the-art facility located at 4300 N. Mattox Rd. features a larger fresh processing area, double the freezer space, and an integrated temperature controlled supply chain. “We are excited to grow our presence and partnership in the mid-west region. The new facility represents a continued investment and history providing Kansas City and the region with the highest quality seafood”, said President & CEO James Iacino.
The construction of the 29,000 square-foot building additionally supports their extremely high standards when it comes to food safety. This larger footprint allows for a new food security camera system, upgraded lighting for quality control, refrigerated receiving and shipping areas, production of ozonated ice along with four additional ozone regions in the building. The company has a proven track record in food safety, scoring 96 percent of the last decade on independent third-party food safety audits.
We couldn’t have a grand opening without a party. The Denver SFC Team joined the KC Team for a celebration. Local chefs, restaurateurs, and market owners from Kansas, Missouri, and even Oklahoma joined the festivities. Click on the images below for a visual recap of the Grand Opening.
