Seattle Fish Co. is a proud support of the ACFCCA, as both a Gold Level Sponsor and an ACF apprenticeship program sponsor. The apprenticeship program gives individuals a cost-effective way to obtain a culinary education through apprenticeship. The students of this 2-year program are paired with a host kitchen where they learn hands-on skills as an apprentice, while being paid for their work and attend weekly classes in Denver. Upon graduation, the chefs will have earned their American Culinary Federation Certified Culinarian or Pastry Cook designation along with 42 semester hours of college credits. Seattle Fish Co. hosts the second-year students for a full tour of our processing and distribution operation and offers them hand-on cutting training with some of the state’s best seafood cutters!
This last week was the ACFCCA’s President’s Award dinner at Sanctuary Golf Club. The evening offered an elegant dinner prepared by the talented chefs of Sanctuary Golf Club lead by executive chef Danny Flannigan. The evening continued to recognize the program’s proud sponsors and introduce the organization’s 2015 President, Chef Craig Cook of The University of Colorado. If you know anyone that may be interested in earning a culinary degree and wants to learn more about the ACFCCA’s Apprenticeship Program should read more on their website or contact Monica Leonard.
