Seattle Fish Company has acquired Mountain Valley Fish & Oyster in an effort to increase the selection of its service and value to customers throughout Colorado’s Western Slope.

The transaction, finalized Monday, adds the 37-year-old company’s products to the Denver-based Seattle Fish Co.’s offerings.

Mountain Valley caters primarily to high-end restaurants from Aspen to Durango to Telluride; and it has provided Colorado with seafood and service from the Colorado town of Montrose.

“We look forward to continuing the good work and community involvement of Mountain Valley Fish & Oyster, all the while bringing our 95 years of passion, service, quality, and customer service to the region,” said James Iacino, president and CEO of Seattle Fish Co.

“Strategically this acquisition allows Seattle Fish to expand our reach into the Western Slope and better partner with those customers in providing globally sourced seafood to discriminating consumers.”

Mountain Valley Fish & Oyster employees will work out of the same facilities in Montrose under the employment of Seattle Fish. All operations will be conducted as Seattle Fish Co.
