Seattle Fish Company Offers MSC Certification Opportunity to Customers

Seattle Fish Company is committed to sustainability and wants to help its interested restaurant partners in achieving Marine Stewardship Council certification. From July 28–31, Surefish will be in Denver to initiate the MSC Chain of Custody certification process for Seattle Fish Company’s interested restaurant partners. MSC certification is the gold standard for ensuring sustainability of wild capture fisheries and provides an opportunity to stand above the competition by offering food that consumers can trust is certified as being sustainable. Seattle Fish Company is excited to provide a resource for our interested restaurant partners to take advantage of this opportunity and is making it even more appealing by subsidizing half of the fee by dropping the cost of the initial audit from $1000 to $500 for the first year as well as covering the costs of Surefish’s travel expenses. Additionally, SFC is developing a complimentary education program to help educate staffs about MSC certification and what it means to the restaurant and the consumer. If you would like more information about Surefish or the MSC certification process or to schedule a certification date, please contact Seattle Fish Company’s University of Denver MBA intern and sustainability project manager, Mara Wohnlich, at mara@seattlefish.com.
