Seattle Fish Company provided much of the seafood at countless parties, banquets, fetes, get-togethers and dinner outings catering to the 50,000 people that filtered into the city for the Democratic National Convention.
The Denver-based seafood distributor, which says it captures about 70 percent of the imported fish market in Colorado, has seen business jump 30 percent this month over last August.
All of that increase can be pegged to the convention, said James Iacino, the company's owner and sales manager. Seattle Fish Co. handled more than 1,100 orders and sold more than 80,000 pounds of seafood from Monday through Thursday.
