Granddaughter to Mose Iacino, founder of Seattle Fish Company, Chelsea Iacino represents the third generation of the Iacino family to be dedicated to offering the best fresh and frozen seafood available.
As human resource manager and benefits administrator, Iacino’s favorite part of the job is interacting with each employee on a personal basis. She works to ensure that everyone at Seattle Fish is knowledgeable about the available benefits and assists employees with decisions regarding all benefits.
Iacino also leads the Seattle Fish “Green Team” in implementing environmentally friendly practices. The company is the only seafood wholesaler in the region that is Marine Stewardship Council-certified, a program and seafood eco-label that recognizes and rewards sustainable fishing.
Growing up around the family business meant getting involved in the seafood industry at an early age. Iacino worked in several different positions throughout high school and college, including driving the delivery trucks, packing trays and serving as a sales representative. Understanding these different roles in the company has helped prepare her for her current position in human resources becuase she can relate to each and every employee at Seattle Fish.
Chelsea was born in Colorado but spent part of her early childhood in Arizona. She graduated cum laude with a degree in business management from the University of Denver in 2008. She enjoys skiing and wakeboarding whenever the weather permits and is an avid scuba diver.
“Happy employees are productive employees. My job is to do whatever it takes to make each employee at Seattle Fish feel appreciated, respected and taken care of, thus allowing them to focus on performing their jobs to the best of their abilities.”
